Long-travel carbon e-MTB, the TREK Rail 9.8, rips like our heaviest trail setups and propels you back up the mountain. Everything is updated, even the frame, to give you the most fun possible on the trickiest runs. With the new smart system Performance Line CX, which has a longer-range 750 Wh battery and exciting features like activity tracking, navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity, you also receive Bosch’s most recent technology.
You should do it if…
A carbon e-MTB with a lot of battery power and a great range is what you’re looking for. You want the nimbleness of carbon, the steadiness of a longer reach, the velvety feel of high-end suspension, and the very latest from Bosch.
Your technology
A newer, more powerful OCLV Mountain Carbon frame with a longer reach and larger head tube and seat tube. A Shimano XT 1×12 transmission, a rock-solid RockShox ZEB Select+ fork, a super responsive RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate Thru Shaft shock, and an extra-long-range 750 Wh battery. With the smart system Performance Line CX, you receive the latest from Bosch, including the new Bluetooth’® LED remote for simple connecting and all-in-one navigation and activity monitoring with the eBike Flow app.
The last word
This bike has numerous upgrades throughout that make it a real ripper, notably the suspension kit. Thanks to the strong Bosch engine, 750 Wh battery, and components that can withstand all that raucous riding, it’s designed for hammering downhill descents before soaring back up.
Reasons to love it
With a new Bluetooth-connected LED remote and the eBike Flow app, Bosch’s updated smart system gives you the same amount of power and responsiveness while granting you access to even more customization and control.
The full-color Kiox display provides ride information, establishes Bluetooth® connections with your devices, and has an integrated theft protection feature.
Because RE:aktiv with Thru Shaft operates more quickly than a typical shock, it tracks the ground better and maintains control.
The new frame is significantly more durable, with a 34.9 mm seat tube to allow dropper posts that are more robust, and a bigger head tube that combines with heavy eMTB-optimized forks for less flex and more precise steering.
Trek’s Removable Integrated Battery (RIB) system has a wonderful design and is incredibly user-friendly. It completely conceals the battery in the frame for safety, makes it simple to remove the battery without tools, and allows you to mount a water bottle cage.
